Features

• 3D trajectory view. A new 2D/3D switcher (next to the Topo/Satellite switcher) tilts the map and lifts each sensor point to its height above the flight's lowest point, so you can see the trajectory in 3D and rotate around it. Points keep the same coloring as the 2D map, and the per-file checkboxes and file-row hover highlight work the same as in 2D. The flat 2D map remains the default; your choice is remembered between sessions.

Bug Fixes

• Linux: fixed a blank application window. On some Linux systems the app window could open empty; it now renders correctly. And if startup ever does fail, the window now shows a readable error message instead of staying blank.

• Signed, notarized downloads. The macOS and Windows builds are now code-signed, and the macOS app is notarized by Apple, so they open without the "unidentified developer" or SmartScreen security warnings.

Features

• Pergam Falcon G1/G2 support. You can now load Pergam Falcon G1/G2 position CSVs. Only valid readings are kept — rows the sensor flagged as errors are dropped automatically — and the onboarding tour now lists all three supported sensors.
• One sensor per layer. Loading files from two different sensors at once (for example, Falcon Plus and Falcon G1/G2) is now refused up front with a clear message, and without leaving an empty layer behind — so a layer never ends up mixing data from different instruments.
• Show only some of a layer's files. Check individual files under a sensor layer to display just those on the map. The layer's own checkbox now has a third, partially-selected state, so you can see at a glance when only some of its files are shown.
• Ask support sends your request directly. The Ask support dialog now files your request — with the diagnostics package attached — straight to the support team, and adds a Subject line. If support can't be reached, you can still save the package as a ZIP and email it.
• Sensor details on hover. Hovering a sensor layer's name shows the detected sensor model and its measurement type, for example "Pergam Falcon G1/G2 — Column measurement (TDLAS)".
• Sensor photo while choosing the type. When your file matches a known sensor, the sensor-type dialog shows that sensor's photo while you confirm the measurement type.
• A gentle QC reminder. After you load sensor data, the toolbar's QC button briefly glows to suggest running quality control on it.

Bug Fixes

• Files you check under a sensor layer now actually appear on the map — previously a partial selection could leave the map blank.

Bug Fixes

• New releases now appear on the download page and in the app's update check within minutes. Previously both could keep showing the previous version for up to a day after a release was published.
• Downloaded archives now contain properly named, versioned applications — for example MethaneInspector-0.14.0.exe on Windows and MethaneInspector-0.14.0.app on macOS. The Windows app previously extracted under the internal name mi-app.exe, and different versions overwrote each other on extraction.

Features

• Terms of Service. On first start the app now presents its Terms of Service to accept before use, and shows them again whenever they change. The Terms are also published on the download page, so you can read them without installing.
• Projects are protected from older app versions. A project last saved by a newer version of MethaneInspector can no longer be opened by an older one — instead of risking the project's data, the app explains that an update is needed and offers to check for one right away.
• The map remembers your base map. If you switch the map to Satellite, the app now keeps that choice — across projects and restarts — instead of returning to Topo every time.
• Beta builds identify themselves. Beta versions of the app now show "(version Beta)" in the window title, so it's always clear whether you're running a beta or a production release.

Bug Fixes

• The Terms of Service text no longer covers the Accept and Decline buttons on tall screens.
• Removed the Project Settings entry from the Project menu — it opened an empty placeholder dialog. The entry will return once project settings are actually editable.

• The app tells you about new versions. On startup, MethaneInspector checks whether a newer version is available and, if so, shows what's new and offers to download it. The new version lands in your Downloads folder, ready to start whenever you are — the running app is never modified.

• Layer checkbox controls its files. Hiding a layer now unchecks all of its files, and showing it checks them all again, so the layer and file checkboxes always agree.
• Tidier start screen. The start screen now shows the application version under the app name and lists only the five most recent projects.
• Clearer file origins. Files produced by an algorithm (for example, lateral correction) now show a friendly "generated by" hint instead of an internal path.
• More precise tool hints. The Boundaries button now notes that the layer is optional, and the leak-detection hints explain that each leak is placed at the cluster's weighted center of mass — which, for a point source under steady wind, may sit slightly downwind of the true source.

Bug Fixes

• Survey-line detection no longer drops dense flights. Slow flights with tightly spaced lines (such as verification passes) could come out of Lines mostly or entirely empty; detection now automatically adapts to such flights and keeps their survey lines.
• Output layer name follows the selected source. In the algorithm dialogs, picking a different source layer now regenerates the suggested output name instead of keeping the previous layer's name.
• Checkboxes line up. Layer and file checkboxes in the Layers panel are now aligned regardless of checked state.

• Support requests now include a screenshot on Windows. Earlier versions still left the screenshot out of the support package on Windows; the app now captures its own window reliably and includes it.

• Guided new-project setup. Creating a project now walks you through the process: it explains that each project lives in its own folder, lets you pick or create that folder, and — if the folder already holds a project — offers to open it or replace it. Once the project is created, you're prompted to add sensor data right away (or later from the Layers panel).

A new "Ask support" button in the toolbar (next to Settings) lets you send a support request without leaving the app. Write a message, optionally attach a screenshot and a copy of your project, and the app packages everything — along with logs and system details that help us diagnose issues — into a single ZIP and reveals it in your file manager.
• Contact details on support requests. The support dialog now has name and email fields so we know who to reply to. They're remembered between requests.
